Magnesium oxide desulfurization is also called milk of magnesia absorption method. Magnesium oxide slurry, namely magnesium hydroxide, is used as an absorbent to absorb sulfur dioxide in flue gas to generate magnesium sulfite and magnesium sulfate. These sulfates are dehydrated and dried, and then calcined to decompose. In order to reduce magnesium sulfate, a small amount of coke is added in the satin furnace to decompose sulfate and sulfite into high concentration of sulfur dioxide gas and magnesium oxide. Haicheng Magnesium Oxide Magnesium oxide becomes magnesium hydroxide after hydration, which can continue to be recycled as absorption liquid. High concentrations of sulfur dioxide gas can be used to produce sulfuric acid or sulfur. At present, the technology of magnesium oxide desulfurization method is mature and has been applied to large-scale industrial installations. The desulfurization rate is over 90%.
